One of our WOOF team (Tyler Habowski) took the first couple of prints with his brand new, freshly finished aluminum “ultimaker” style FFM printer. The first test prints were Amazing!!! Well done!!!
Here’s a little more detail on this PLA print (not bad for a first real print!).
Neat setup. Do you have more pics or the build process? Are the measurements the same as ultimaker? I would like to build one with aluminum extrusions.
Mark, that was a student designed bot. He just “really wanted it built out of metal”. He’ll be back for Autumn term. As for aluminum extrusions, you might look at the openbeam setup and parts.
